Aventura Mall Celebrates First Permanent Carsten Höller Slide Tower in America

Carsten Höller, Aventura Slide Tower, stainless steel, hot-galvanized steel, polycarbonate, lacquer, paint glass, concrete and clock
mechanism. 75.2 x 46.12 x 92.9 feet

Aventura Mall, Miami’s premier shopping destination home to a world-class contemporary art collection, is pleased to present Aventura
Slide Tower, an original commission from artist Carsten Höller. This is the artist’s first permanent slide tower in the United States. Höller,
who is world-renowned for his large-scale artworks, created the structure to promote joy and a feeling “somewhere between delight and
madness.”

A celebration of the site-specific work will take place on Sunday, February 11, where the artist’s long-time friend, actress Chloë Sevigny,
will join him in taking a ride in tandem down the double-barreled slide. If you are interested in attending to cover the event, please contact
Marcella Zimmermann (marcella@culturalcounsel.com) to discuss coverage opportunities.

“We are proud to have such an iconic, interactive work free and open to the public,” said Jackie Soffer, Co-Chairman and CEO of
Turnberry Associates, owner and manager of Aventura Mall. “We hope that Aventura Slide Tower becomes a new landmark for the Miami
community and visitors alike.”

Höller, a former scientist, describes the double-barreled Aventura slide as "isomeric.” The slide is comprised of two titanium steel slides
that visitors reach by climbing a central spiral staircase, offering them a choice as they wait on a suspended platform: slide down
clockwise or counterclockwise. Two friends can go down at the same time, expecting to reach speeds of up to 15 miles per hour, while
enjoying disorienting views of the slanted clock tower 93 feet in the air.

Aventura Slide Tower is part of Aventura Mall’s new three-level expansion wing—an inviting indoor-outdoor exchange highlighted by
experiential, site-specific additions to the Arts Aventura Mall collection. On the grounds, and throughout the mall, visitors will happen upon
Louise Bourgeois’s Eye Benches, The Haas Brothers’ Gorillas in the Mist, Jorge Pardo’s Untitled, Daniel Arsham’s Columns, Ugo
Rondinone’s Moonrise, East, and more.
