MARIA ANTONIA HERNANDEZ
Maria Antonia Hernandez was born and raised in
New Orleans, Louisiana. Her professional journey
began at the University of New Orleans, and then
she moved out West to attend Northern Arizona
University. There she not only fell in love with that
little mountain town that enhanced her career, but
she also began her passion of Rock Climbing which
inspired a level of tranquility needed to deal with
Graduate school. She then moved to Oxford, Ohio, and taught at the Miami University of
Maria Antonia has always been involved in causes concerning the gay community, from
GLADD and PFAG in New Orleans to a special AIDS Outreach Program in Flagstaff, AZ.
After teaching for several years up North and Out West, Maria Antonia finally settled in
Miami, ‘where all Cubans belong’, according to her family, making her Chihuahua,
Habana-Rah, extremely happy for she was exhausted of traveling.
